Comprehensive exams starting at $85
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I had a fantastic visit at Warby Parker today! I went in for a routine eye exam and left feeling really assured and excited for my journey with glasses. My doctor was very pleasant and kind. He ensured i had a perfect prescription and gave me a lot of helpful tips and recommendations to set me up for future success. The store attendant who helped me was very very kind. Although wearing glasses is very unfamiliar to me, she made sure i had plenty of options to try out, and kept pulling more options until we found one i liked! She went above and beyond ensuring they fit me perfectly and i truly appreciate how thorough she was. I am very excited for my journey with Warby Parker and am very happy with my experience! My wife has a neurological condition and we live out of state but go to Warby in Birmingham when we have a medical appointment at UAB and need new glasses or an adjustment. We have bought prescription glasses here twice.
The work product is exceptional and the staff are excellent and very patient and helpful to us. We very much appreciate the help and service they provide to help us. We won’t buy frames anywhere else.

I see Alex and Georgia just about every time I go in the store to either purchase frames or have them fixed/adjusted. Their hospitality is so warm and authentic, something you’d hope to expect when receiving any type of Service, but now days seems to be a rarity. They feel like old friends. They both certainly shine a very positive light on that store and the brand. It is true, you’re only as good as the people working for you, and Warby Parker is very fortunate to have them both.

Georgia was very helpful in assisting us with our purchase. My wife and I both came in to purchase. She had a lot of questions on progressive lenses. Georgia helped to resolve those concerns. Also she took precise PD measurements on us both. We had a lot of prescriptions already loaded into our online account. Georgia was helpful navigating that as well and tagged each current Rx with the correct name.

Was greeted upon arriving and asked what sort of help I needed (adjust frames, slipping). Was then asked whether the slipping was due to screw adjustment or something else, which I found absurd. Perhaps that discernment is more common among eyeglass wearers than I would guess. I’ve been wearing prescription glasses almost 20 years and today was the first time I was asked to qualify my need for frame adjustment. I figured a direct question might move things along, so I asked if someone there could adjust my frames so they wouldn’t slip as much (this is my third pair of the same WP frames), which was when I was told their optician was out until “next week”, but that “if it is an emergency”, I could try another local WP store. Strange way to put it, but ok. I asked for clarification on what would constitute an emergency such that I’d be permitted to drive myself to another WP store and learned that “emergency” is apparently code for “not an emergency at all, just trying to be obtuse”. I should have had the presence of mind to share that their mission was accomplished. I went to the other store and got the frame adjustment without being quizzed on what I thought the possible issue was and without declaring an emergency. Brick & mortar retail managers: Those of us still darkening your door with our non-emergency needs want you to succeed and need your presence in our communities. But not at the cost of the most basic elements of customer service. I can get shitty, borderline combative service online.

You really can't beat their prices for the amazing styles they have! Due to current circumstances, the wait can be a little long with only a few people allowed in the store at a time, but honestly-when you do get in there, it's great! Everyone is willing to help you and give their feedback on what would fit your face the best and they were able to answer any questions I had! They are also super clean making sure to wipe off any glasses you've tried on and everyone was just super friendly! I understand waiting can suck, but we're all doing what we can under these weird times and I glaldy waited to get the glasses I needed! This will be my second pair and I'm so excited to get them!

I've had to wear glasses for the past 40+ years, and in that time I've had a lot of eye exams and bought a lot of eyeglasses. The eye exam and eyeglass purchasing process was so incredibly efficient and easy as I immediately moved from check-in to eye exam to picking out glasses. When I came out of the eye exam, they had already picked out some suggested frames based on my current glasses, and for the first time EVER, I agreed with the "pre-selected frames" and found them to be my favorite. I was completely done with the entire process in 45 minutes, which was amazing. And their frames and lenses are reasonably priced and were much more affordable than any prescription glasses I have bought in the past 20 years.
