Dr. Baylee Pendley
Introduction
Dr. Baylee Pendley is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2021. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Pendley uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.
Dr. Heidi Hernandez

Dr. Heidi Hernandez graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2023. As a local native (fun fact: she graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School) she is grateful to be practicing close to her hometown community.
Dr. Jay Lott
Introduction
Dr. Jay Lott graduated from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2008. In addition to his optometry degree, he completed a residency at the IAU and specialized in ocular disease. Dr. Lott is proud to be a member of the ALOA, AOA, and NAOA. As an Alabama native (fun fact: he graduated from Hartselle High School) he is grateful to be practicing close to his hometown community.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I had an eye exam on 4/9/26. Paid for glasses. I still don't have them. When I was told they were in I picked them up but had to take them right back as they had colors in them. Never had that before and thank goodness a employee looked and could see it too so back when my glasses. I picked them up today but didn't even get to leave as they were still showing colors. They said that's was the best they could do....did not offer any solutions so I had to get a refund which of course takes about 2 weeks and I told them to refund my insurance carrier and they said that takes about 3 weeks possibly longer. They were polite but could not offer any course of action so I am out my time, having to wear bad glasses and then she said it was because it was plastic lens...I was told due to my prescription, when I ordered, that I needed to have plastic lens because the glass would be too heavy. They lost my business and I had been there for years. Buyer beware!!!!

I had such a great experience at the store, the staff was so helpful and helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses. I ended up getting two pair for a great price, they offer contacts, glasses and sunglasses. Jeff was so helpful and helped me decide which pair fit me the best, he explained my insurance coverage and showed me how to get to my account online, which was created today for me. It was super easy, they offer small, medium and large frames for all face types. It was a great experience.
