Dr. Valerie Luong graduated from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in 2022. As a California native (fun fact: she graduated from Arroyo High School), she is grateful to be practicing close to her hometown community. In her downtime, Dr. Luong enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with her dogs, and she is a beginner gardener.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
The well-known portion of an eye exam where you read from a chart of progressively shrinking letters until they're too small to see
The part of the exam that determines your prescription for corrective lenses (if you need them)
A screening for issues like glaucoma and cataracts, and for signs of other health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and more
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Insurance, FSA, and HSA
Whether we’re in- or out-of-network with your carrier, you can use vision insurance to save at Warby Parker . (We accept FSA and HSA, too!)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

They say there’s free adjustment of glasses, but you have to wait 25 minutes per person who is ahead of you. And there’s no way to book online, or see how many people are in front of you, what a terrible system and offering.

I came into Warby Parker feeling genuinely shaken after a very upsetting experience at another eyewear chain on Shattuck Avenue. From the moment I walked in, the difference in care, professionalism, and calm was immediately clear.
Mira took the time to really listen and handled my high prescription with confidence and transparency. She carefully measured everything, explained options clearly, and brought out frames that actually worked for my face and prescription — no pressure, no rushing.
When I returned for adjustments, James and Karen were both incredibly attentive. Karen’s final adjustments made the glasses perfectly comfortable — balanced, secure, and effortless to wear.
There was a reasonable wait time for the adjustment's as the story was busy.
The difference proper, thoughtful adjustments make is huge. These adjustments were not easy based on the frame size restrictions my high prescription of the shelf requirements.
My glasses were made quickly, fit beautifully, and most importantly, I can see clearly again without distortion or discomfort. I left feeling steady, confident, and relieved. Not only this they look good too.
I have been receiving complements on my new glasses, and again my high prescription its not easy to hit everything beautifully, so I feel like me and not a freak in coke bottle frames.
This experience restored my trust in optical care. If you have a strong prescription or simply want to be treated with respect and real expertise, I can’t recommend Warby Parker highly enough.

Used to be welcoming with nice staff but not anymore. My daughter and I came in at 5pm on a weeknight and none of the staff greeted us. I thought, “oh, well they’re all busy with someone..we can just wait”. I waited behind two other ppl at a table who had not been helped yet. We wait for 45+ minutes. Not browsing glasses but waiting hoping for a free staff member. No one looked at us, greeted us, or noticed us. Once we noticed the staff finished with their customers and we thought it was our turn. Two new people walk in and were immediately helped, the staff didn’t notice any of us who had waited almost an hour! I politely go and ask a staff member if there was a sign up for the line because we were all skipped and have been waiting for almost an hour. They said “ oh…um I’ll help you all after this person.” There were four or so staff members who didn’t notice us and it’s a small store.
It’s 6pm. I am so confused, my daughter is hungry. So we all waited another 15 min. A full hour ( not browsing but waiting together around a table) but completely over looked. This place use to be so welcoming, organized and had a check in system. Idk what happened. I guess take a risk and see if they’ll notice you.

The staff were courteous enough, but I’m quite unsatisfied with the outcomes of their policies. They had to reschedule my appointment with me, which happens. It is not easy for me to get away from work, and that initial time slot was worked into my schedule weeks in advance. On the day of the rescheduled appointment I rush out of work and with about 20 minutes lead time on the appointment start, when it becomes apparent that I will be late, I call the location and let them know that I will be 10 minutes late. When I arrive I am unable to have my appointment. I won’t be giving my business to Warby Parker again.

Had a great experience: stylist was honest, engaged, and able to understand my style and approach to glasses based on a few shapes I had tried at home with the app. We quickly found the right pair. I think the key is finding someone you click with and trust. In the past I have had stylists who are too nice and don’t have the same skill to intuit my style goals and then I am left with having decide among too many pairs of glasses. I got lucky or WP is hiring better salespeople.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the new and updated designs and colors of the frames. It made choosing so much easier. Also, the salesperson, Gabriel, was very helpful and knowledgeable about finding wider frames. I was in and out of the shop in less than 30 minutes.

I had an eye exam on 11/21 and on 12/5 my (basic) new glasses haven’t even been sent yet. I paid for an exam here instead of getting one through Kaiser to get replacements sooner, but that was not money well spent. I haven’t heard from 4th St WP at all, but have talked to numerous people at WP customer service who don’t know what’s going on. I did think the optician was knowledgeable, but the rest of the experience has been really frustrating and disappointing. Will not return.

It was my first time coming to a Warby Parker store. I had purchased a pair of prescription eyeglasses a few years ago and loved the option of being able to try them on at home. I decided to try the store this time and I'd say overall my experience was great. They greeted me when I walked in and they gave me all the information I needed. They gave me space to browse but also would check up on me and ask me if I needed help with anything and when I decided on a pair, it was very easy to order and check out. The place was nice and clean and had a good atmosphere. Would recommend coming into this store.

The store leader Yolanda Kinchen was extremely rude and dismissive to me as a walk in for an eye glass repair. They quoted me for a 45 minute wait and after 1 1/2 hours, Yolanda said “the optician” is the only one who can do eyeglass repairs. I had to perform the service myself... The store mangers and floor staff at Warby Parker should be trained to know how to at least replace a screw for an eyeglass arm. I was so disappointed with this location’s customer service.
