Dr. Brian Yap
Introduction
Dr. Brian Yap is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the SUNY College of Optometry in 2008. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Yap uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to create a supportive, eye care environment—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Came in to see if the employees could help repair a pair a metal frames that were bent out of shape. Jay offered to help me despite me getting the frames elsewhere and was able to fix them super quickly!! Amazing staff who were all so kind and ready to help especially with there being no glasses repair shops in DC. Cannot shout them out enough <3

I recently had one of the best experiences at an eyeglass store in a long time and it is all thanks to the helpful and friendly staff. In particular, the lovely lady who assisted me yesterday named Dieyi. Picking out frames has always been super difficult for me because of my indecisive nature, but at this location the staff member named Dieyi not only heard my requirements when it comes to lenses (which is extensive) , but also was able to use her knowledge to steer me in the right direction towards my dream glasses with ease. If you are looking for glasses this is the best location to go to!

When I went to Warby Parker on 14th st. Alex greeted me and was very calm and attentive. He signed me in, informed the doctor I was there and encouraged me to look at frames. While I shared that I was only getting an eye exam today, he still took time to share pricing and ensured that everything was saved in my profile. Dr Keener was kind and knowledgeable. I was able to get in with a little notice. I got a very professional exam with the top technology very pleasant people. I didn’t get a good exam and that I had a retina tear, but I would never have found that out if it weren’t for Warby Parker love these guys.

i went in needing a new pair of glasses because my old ones were getting worn out, and i had a really great experience. i worked with greg, who was especially helpful and knowledgeable. he took the time to help me find a pair that not only fit well but also framed my face in a flattering way. i never felt rushed, and his recommendations were thoughtful and tailored to what suited me best. i have received multiple compliments on my new specs already!
the space was clean and organized, and the lighting was spectacular. overall, i left feeling confident in my choice and genuinely happy with both the service and the experience. i will be back.
