Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I recently visited the Warby Parker outlet in Georgetown, Washington, DC, and overall I was extremely satisfied with my visit. I had my eyes examined by a doctor, and I purchased new glasses for reading and driving. The whole process only took about an hour. The staff all made a potentially stressful time go very smoothly. They all did their jobs in a very professional manner, answered all the questions I had, and conducted themselves in a friendly manner that put me entirely at ease. I would highly recommend Warby Parker to anyone in need of an eye exam or new eyeware.

I’ve been a happy Warby Parker customer for over a decade now, but this experience really was amazing. My partner accidentally broke their glasses in half the week of a friend’s wedding. We were seriously out of luck. Not only did my partner order new glasses, but when we explained the wedding situation, Shadae and Nina immediately checked the back and found the exact glasses frame. They were able to pop the old lenses into the new frame and problem solved. I cannot recommend this Warby Parker location enough. Such kind employees. Emergency solved! Thank you!!

I have purchased glasses from Warby Parker several times over the last decade, but never used their optometry services. This was my first attempt at simplifying the process and utilizing their in-house optometrist before ordering new frames. Upon arriving for my appointment I was told the optometrist is currently out of my network (they literally had a sign outside their store advertising that they accept my insurance). They sent me multiple appointment reminders—not one included the critical update that the doctor is out of network.
Instead of trying my luck again with Warby Parker, I made an appointment to return to my last optometrist at Washington Eye Associates by Farragut North. Warby Parker may be good at vibes and expediting cheap frames, but other longtime glasses/contact wearers like me, who value reliability and quality with their eye care, should stick with more serious and established optometry.

Complete waste of time and energy. Spent time picking out the prescription I wanted only to be told that I would be getting my glasses within 10 business days...almost 4 weeks later, after taking to multiple representatives and managers I am told that they failed inspection and indeed are not on the way. I was told it would take 2 weeks and then promised that they would be shipped last week after delays. What a waste of time and energy. Please see screenshot showing my order and and screenshot taken from August 29th - last week Friday, stating that they were ready and would be sent that day. I am expected to get a refund (lets see)...Additionally, I went for a contact lense exam a month ago. After communicating with the doctor on which prescription worked, she left Warby Parker and never uploaded my prescription...which of course I paid for (see screenshot of our chat)...NEVER GO HERE

After driving and looking for parking for almost an hour, I arrived at my appointment within the 5 minute grace period only to find out that the optometrist was out-of-network. Apparently the one at this location left and they brought in someone from VA. My insurance does not cover out-of-network doctors and I would have appreciated a text or some other form of notification giving me the option to cancel or reschedule. Now I know to call before my appointment.

The optometrist was professional, efficient, and attentive.
