We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.

Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Amber, Marcy, and the entire staff at this Warby Parker absolutely knocked it out of the park. From the moment I walked in, the experience felt welcoming, organized, and genuinely customer-first. The team was attentive without being pushy, knowledgeable without being overwhelming, and incredibly patient while helping me narrow down frames and make decisions.
I never felt rushed, and every question I had was answered thoughtfully. They gave real guidance, honest feedback, and made the whole process easy and actually fun — which is not something most people say about buying glasses.
You can tell this location runs on strong teamwork and great leadership — everyone was in sync and clearly cared about the customer experience from start to finish. I left feeling confident in my choice and taken care of the whole way through.

The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. They listened, reviewed my prescription and suggested which frames to try on first, answered my questions and I did not feel rushed. They are out of network for my insurance and explained that i will receive an itemized receipt to submit to my insurance. Even before i am reimbursed by my insurance for a small portion of the total bill, they were a only a little more than half of the price i was quoted at the eye doctors office. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, great atmosphere and lower cost. I highly recommend them!

The team was super helpful in finding the right frames for me and my prescription. If I had to do it again I would go into the store again to pick the frame la and glasses for my high prescription. They can fine tune your frames to fit you better like finding the point where the center of your eyes are on the glass so your vision is personally optimized for you.

Amazing experience picking up very stylish glasses and the customer service is beyond five stars! Very inexpensive if you have health insurance to give you great discount and they have a special for an eye exam with glasses and my daughter walked out of there for under $150 with a new pair and exam

I had a great experience at the Hyde Park location. This was my first time as a customer here. I was greeted warmly and treated like I was a long time customer. The eye Dr was thorough and took her time during my examination. The technician explained the different testing machines they have and my options for the type of examinations and cost. When it was time to choose my glasses, Marcie at the front was so nice. She didn't make me feel rushed, helped me try on a ton of glasses and narrow down what I felt comfortable with. All in all a great relaxing experience. And making an appointment was so easy and they have plenty of times to fit your schedule.

Everyone at the Warby Parker in Hyde Park Village was wonderful. Several associates helped me throughout the process, and each one was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. They accepted my eyeglass prescription from another eye doctor with no issues, and the entire process was easy and seamless. My glasses are being shipped directly to my home, and they provided a detailed out-of-network receipt so I can submit it to my vision insurance for reimbursement.
