Dr. Lan Nguyen

Dr. Lan Nguyen is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2023. Dr. Ricardo Ayala
Introduction
Dr. Ricardo Ayala graduated from the Chicago College of Optometry (CCO) in 2023 Dr. Ayala is proud to be a member of the Illinois Optometric Association. As an Illinois native (fun fact: he graduated from Plainfield South High School) he is grateful to be practicing close to his hometown community. In his downtime, Dr. Ayala enjoys watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with his wife and his dog, Daisy.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

This was my first visit to Warby Parker. I was looking for a specific kind of frame, and had shopped several retailers. I am a Costco member, and over the years have gotten most of my glasses there. However, Costco sometimes does not keep up to the fashion trends I want, so I visited Warby Parker to see what they had. Plus, though a tad more expensive, they are competitive with Costco.I was very pleasantly surprised. Lucas, my technician, was so helpful. I look forward to getting my glasses. They are progressive lenses so I had to do it in the store, I’m looking forward to the final outcome. I give Warby Parker in Oak Brook Illinois 5 stars.

Shout out to Lucas, Chiara, & Dr. Avala!
I broke the frames to my eyeglasses right at the nose piece that I bought from Warby Parker about 3 years ago and I just loved those glasses, they were so flattering to my face. So I went to Warby Parker to buy the same exact frames for my lens; unfortunately those frames were discontinued. And I didn’t have vision insurance or a back up pair of glasses at the time. So I started crying in the store and Lucas was so wonderful!!! He was sympathetic and kind and offered me several viable options. He even waited for me while I was getting an eye exam after his shift was over to make sure everything went alright, such a nice man and so good at his job!
The eye doctor, Dr. Avala could not have been nicer as well. The doctor was so thorough because I have very bad vision. And when I received the frames (which Lucas sent via expedited shipping for free) I literally could see perfectly out of these lens, sometimes I get a headache with new lens but nope! Not this time! Amazing!
And Chiara was also so sweet and helpful, she meticulously taped my broken glasses together so I could see to drive home and she picked out my new frames that I actually like better than the old frames! I didn’t think that was possible!

I just left this Warby Parker where Chiara and Michelle were fantastic.
When I walked in I used words like wonky and bendy to describe my frames and Michelle hooked me right up with Chiara.
Chiara was able to decipher the wonky, bendy, head squeezy, cheek measurement descriptions I gave her and turn that into glasses that feel and look great on my melon.
These two are a great combo - I’ll be back!

Dr. Ayala is so friendly and kind. He listened to my concerns and agreed with my thoughts. Chris was so wonderful and patient while I figured out what kind of glasses I wanted.
