Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

It was super easy to book my appointment online a few days before. And at the appointment everyone who helped me was very nice, and it was a quick process. The doctor was thorough with their exam and I didn’t have to wait at all to see them right away.
It cost $134 for my eye exam with a new glasses prescription, which I paid out of pocket but am able to get reimbursed for by insurance.

I can’t be more thankful to the staff at the store for the wonderful attention and customer service they gave me. Big shout out to Crisstal Cabrera who helped me out when I came in because my purse, the glasses were chasing against my ear.
Because I don’t live in the country, she tried to find all the possible solutions to make sure I could leave with a solution for my issue. She changed out the legs on my glasses for another pair that was on display because she didn’t have any of my model in stock. And also ordered a new pair for me and got it shipped to another store closer to where I was going to stay for the rest of my vacation.

Visiting Boston on holiday for the world cup, my frames from another store got broke in some celebrations. After getting quoted $300+ elsewhere, Sally and Jason here managed to find a better solution, placing my own lenses in a new frame for less than 1/3 of the cost. Very friendly and helpful, great job!

Rare that I enjoy an optometrist visit, but this time I did. Its a pleasant, uncluttered store in a fun location. The staff was friendly and efficient, as was the doctor. The frame selection was excellent, the prices competitive. I appreciated being able to virtually try on frames at home and then check out my selections in the person at the store.

First time visiting an actual store. I used to do the mail in frames, but that was discontinued. This location is awesome with lots of frames to try on and the employees are outstanding. I bought prescription glasses and regular sunglasses. I’m very excited for them to arrive.

Love Warby Parker.
I lost my vision over the course of three days due to a misdiagnosed eye disease and was getting severe migraines from my rapid change in vision. I’d never had eye problems before so I didn’t have vision insurance. Thankfully Warby Parker’s prices were incredibly affordable!
I went into the store, tried on literally every pair of glasses with a very friendly associate who was determined that I find a pair that I like, and ordered them through the app all within an hour. I paid for the upgraded shipping and got them within 3 days without breaking the bank. Very happy with my experience!
Bonus that their designs are super nice and they don’t up charge for ridiculous designer frames. I’m not paying an extra $300 so something on my face can say Brooks Brothers or Kate Spade... I just wanted to be able to see better!

I was able to schedule a same-day appointment after work and complete my eye exam and frame selection in just 25 minutes. Ian was amazing! He even popped the lenses out of a pair of sunglasses so I could see what they’d look like with a normal prescription, such a creative touch. He helped me find exactly what I wanted, including options I might not have chosen on my own. Everything went smoothly through insurance and the entire process was incredibly easy.

Came here after it took forever to make an appointment with MGH to get my eyes checked. I was able to get appointment that week - the process at WP was super quick and everyone was extremely friendly. They check to see if your insurance can help reduce the costs without you even asking. Was able to complete my check up and order new contacts, while Charlestown MGH community center has yet to still get back to me.
