Dr. Sophia Tran graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2025. In addition to her optometry degree, she completed a residency at the New England College of Optometry and specialized in cornea and contact lenses. As a California native (fun fact: she graduated from Villa Park High School), she is grateful to be practicing close to her hometown community.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
The well-known portion of an eye exam where you read from a chart of progressively shrinking letters until they're too small to see
The part of the exam that determines your prescription for corrective lenses (if you need them)
A screening for issues like glaucoma and cataracts, and for signs of other health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and more
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)

Whether we’re in- or out-of-network with your carrier, you can use vision insurance to save at Warby Parker . (We accept FSA and HSA, too!)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Warby Parker Chestnut Hill location today.
I had an eye exam scheduled for 11:55 a.m., and my husband had one scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Due to a 45-minute commute, I called ahead to let the staff know I would be arriving about three minutes past their five-minute grace period. I was told they checked with the optometrist, Lisa Nguyen, and that she declined to see me.
We arrived at the front desk at 12:02 p.m and again the optometrist declined to accommodate me. Despite my appointment being earlier, my husband was checked in and taken for his exam immediately, while I was told they could only accommodate one of us. The staff did not offer to help me reschedule or suggest any alternative solution.
While waiting, I noticed an open 12:35 p.m. appointment and had to rebook myself. Even after confirming that this slot was available, the staff made no effort to proactively accommodate me.
What’s most frustrating is that both exams were completed by about 12:38 p.m., which clearly shows there was sufficient time to complete both appointments between our arrival and the later slot. The lack of flexibility, problem-solving, and basic customer service was surprising and disappointing—especially given that we communicated ahead of time and traveled a significant distance.
Based on this experience, I would not return to this location and cannot recommend it.

I came here for an eye exam and was very pleased with how nice the staff were. Dr. Curtin who did my eye exam was very sweet and attentive. She helped me schedule some additional testing with a nearby ophthalmology clinic and even called to check in on me afterwards.

Have had good cheerful service at Warby Parker Chestnut Hill MA the three times I've been there. Have also gone back to glasses adjusted. WOuld highly recommend. Actually had fun picking glasses, but I'm not very fussy and I'm very old:). I was disappointed that today they didn't have the same frames as the glasses I just lost in NYC, but I found something else I like.

Dr Sarah was very professional and answered all my questions about dry eye and recommendations. She took the time to explain the photos of my retina. She was pleasant and I’d highly recommend her. Genesis assisted me with ordering my glasses and was very patient in answering my questions. I had to wait a bit as the store was very busy around 12 noon when I was there shopping. Note: they do not place lenses on frames that are not the Warby Parker brand.

Thank you to Kerry (or Carrie) at the Chestnut Hill location for completely saving my day! I came in frantically looking at frames before an upcoming trip because I had recently bent my current glasses. The store I originally bought them from told me they were beyond repair and that I’d need to purchase a new pair.
I’d heard great things about WP, and went fully expecting to buy new glasses. Kerry greeted me right away, and after I explained the situation, she asked to take a look at my glasses. In less than five minutes, she had repaired them and even replaced the screw!
While I didn’t need to purchase new glasses on the spot, I did try on some frames and will definitely be coming back after my trip. Thanks again to Kerry and the team at Chestnut Hill for their kindness and expertise!
