Dr. Ran Liu
Introduction
Dr. Ran Liu is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in 2022. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Liu uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Dr. Liu is fantastic! She gave me a full eye exam, a new prescription, let me try different types of contacts, and advised me on whether I should consider LASIK or not. She also recommended a specific heated face mask to help with my dry eyes, which I never knew about. I had a 10/10 experience!

I witnessed an unpleasant argument today: a white woman at the front desk, calling herself the manager, was loudly arguing with an Asian customer. From what I heard, it seemed the Asian guy was late for a quick 5-minute follow-up appointment. But the manager insisted he must rebook for next week.
I heard the guy suggest that she check with the doctor to see whether he should rebook or simply wait there. (Honestly, his proposal is polite and reasonable.) Yet the manager kept refusing, raising her voice, and stressing that “she is the manager and it’s her call.” (I was shocked to hear her even say, “you either leave or rebook.” )
Later, both her colleague and the doctor came out, expressed flexibility, and the guy also said he was fine waiting. Still, the manager was not back down — even saying things like “I refuse to talk with you further.”
This whole scene made me feel sick of Warby Parker. I worry that one day this manager’s behavior could be directed at me or my families too (or maybe, she is simply racist, which is even worse). And I truly don’t understand why she would deliberately make things so difficult for everyone. Isn’t her job supposed to be helping coordinate visits? If she had respected the doctor and the customer, this could have been solved with a 5-minute walk-in instead of forcing a 30-minute rebook. That way, more free slots could be available in the future for others, like me.
Anyway, feeling shame the “manager” poorly behaved, unprofessional and discriminatory (and a bit racist) in front of many other customers…

We had an appointment but arrived a bit late. The doctor clearly said it would only take one minute and did not require rebooking. However, the front desk refused to listen and insisted we rebook. What made the situation worse was that the front desk argued with my husband in front of all the other customers, which was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. I also felt there was a possibility of racial discrimination in the way we were treated. Very disappointing experience.

Very nice staff. They helped me pick out frames. The optomotrist was kind and explained everything to me. Would recommend. Although they didn't take my insurance, I ended up paying around $220 out of pocket for glasses and eye exam.
