Dr. Charles Gamboa graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (IAUPR) in 2013. He is proud to be a member of the American Optometric Association. As a Maryland native (fun fact: he graduated from Wheaton High School), Dr. Gamboa is grateful to be practicing close to his hometown community. In his downtime, he enjoys maintaining his salt water aquarium.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I came in today with two pairs of Warby Parker glasses that needed new nose pads. As soon as I entered the store, CJ greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile. After barely 30 seconds of waiting, he was already helping me.
CJ was friendly, professional, and incredibly efficient. He replaced the nose pads on both pairs and even adjusted them so they would sit properly on my nose, since they had been misaligned. I had a really great experience and was in and out in less than five minutes, even though I arrived close to closing time.
I would highly recommend this location for getting your glasses fixed or even buying a new pair. And if CJ is in the store when you visit, just know you’re lucky — you’re in very good hands.

It was my first time going to Warby Parker downtown crown. I was very pleased with my visit, the doctor was great, took his time and for once didn’t feel like i was rushing through my eye exam. I had a great experience here purchasing frames for myself and my daughter. The staff was very friendly, allowed us space to take our time and find the perfect frames, and got us checked out quickly and seamlessly. The store is bright, clean, and organized. My only wish would be for a different parking situation, as there is only garage or parallel street parking here. It was my first time at this location, so perhaps there is a lot somewhere I didn't see. That said, we didn't have any issue finding a space near the storefront today, and the parking wouldn't deter me from coming back to this location in the future.

Amazing Experience! My husband and I walked in with his prescription and immediately we were greeted warmly by CJ. He was amazing! CJ patiently answered our questions, gave us incredible advice, he actively listened to my husband describing what style of glasses and when he wears them. Literally in 5 minutes or less, he picked out 7 pairs of glasses. They were all very comfortable and flattering on my husband. It took him less than 5 minutes to pick out two pairs of glasses. The hard part was figuring out if only two pairs were enough, he loved the styles so much. CJ helped us place our order, was very transparent and helpful with the pricing. I can’t recommend enough to visit Warby Parker at the Crown. CJ made our experience amazing and stress free. Thank you!!!!

Nice place, friendly staff. Things were going great until the final tally. Then, the price was so utterly, laughably, insultingly, asininically beyond outrageous that I had no choice but to turn tail and flee with one hand on my billfold. Come here if you use wads of hundred dollar bills instead of fireplace logs. Otherwise don't waste your time.
