The Warby Parker Pencil Room is actually two rooms: one filled with a rainbow of over a hundred pencils (which we designed specially with our friends at CW Pencil Enterprise), and another (larger) one in which you’ll find glasses, sunglasses, and pencil-flavored artwork decorating the walls. Pencils are four for $2, and all proceeds go to our nonprofit neighbors 826michigan.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Experience overall is great. I walked in and just to look at frames and ~25 mins later I had a frame picked, eye exam done and order placed. My glasses will be delevered to my home within a couple of weeks. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

If I could go back in time, I'd ask this very WP on S Main St. in Ann Arbor, Michigan to double-check the lenses of the glasses they made for me back in 2019. Those glasses are long dead, but I remember how poorly I saw through them for the four years that I wore them, compared to my monthly contact lenses, which I believe resulted in lens overwear and eye strain while wearing the glasses, particularly at nighttime, class and work.
I recently went to a different WP, hoping to take advantage of a 2 lens + exam promo ($95). After explaining that I had my prescription, did not need an exam, and just wanted two basic lenses, it became clear that the online promo was BS. The worker deflected without apologizing for the confusion, telling me that modest discounts were available for certain glasses; it did not make much sense to me.
Without me asking, same worker (again, at a different WP) handed me a bunch of glasses to try on. I wanted to peruse on my own; guess they had frames to get off their shelves? After being told that it takes two weeks to prepare/deliver thin-lens prescription sunglasses, I left without anything.
It's been years that I've had the strange feeling that this company has been taking me for a fool, harming my vision (which is not great, despite what the docs say, and is critical for my work) in the process. I hope that this is just a dumb feeling of mine. But I will never use a WP again and have to say I cannot trust them. Which is pretty dumb.

Was very pleased with this eye exam place. I wasn’t expecting much from a small shop in Ann Arbor but this place is the best. The doctor was super respectful and never talked down to me. The eye exam was the most thorough and legitimate one I’ve ever had before, and I’ve been to a lot of them honestly.

The staffs were friendly, wide selections (trendy and traditional). Didn't feel rushed or judged when trying many pairs and taking my time ( almost an hour). Very supportive and broke down prices for me after my insurance coverage. Like the style and extra wide option I got. Highly recommend if your insurance covers! I got my glasses with blue light with the $95 frame for $30 only after insurance.
