Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I have preferred Warby Parker for years, but the staff on Washington really make the experience even better.
D’Andre helped me make an appointment since they were so booked for eye exams that I couldn’t do it online or over the phone, then was so pleasant and inviting a month later when I went in that I thought he remembered our limited interaction.
NOTE: no appointment needed to go in and try on new frames. This was only for my bi-annual exam.
The eye exam is done in about 30-40 minutes typically.
D’Andre checked for insurance given very little information when I made the appointment, then followed up with what he’d learned in researching since then, which made me feel like he really cared to make sure I could navigate the confusing American healthcare system even in whatever limited ways he could.
Then he helped me find new glasses while giving honest opinions.
I have half a dozen Warby Parker glasses from over a decade of going there and have done home try-ons multiple times, but I left feeling more secure and excited about my choice than I ever have because I not only trusted his opinion, but that I could come back and find something that works better if I realize going outside my normal black square frames was too hard. But I don’t think it will be — I’m super stoked to get these new glasses. ♥️

This was my fourth visit to Warby Parker since I started wearing prescription glasses. I keep coming back because they have good quality products, nice selection, and the staff are helpful. I use their online shop and "try on" tool to shortlist some frames. Then I like to stop in a store to try them on to make a final selection. It also helps buying in the store because the associate can determine the precise point where my pupils align to the frames. If I were just buying the same frames as before I would just buy completely online because they keep the data from previous purchases.

Warby Parker has an excellent selection of on-trend eyeglasses - from traditional to more adventurous statement frames. What sets them apart, though, is their customer service. While the staff at all locations are excellent, Deondre (sp?) and Sisi at the North Loop location were incredible. They provided great feedback and insight and were an absolute delight to work with. They made the experience a joyful one!
