Dr. Rodnell Batac
Introduction
Dr. Rodnell Batac is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the SUNY College of Optometry in 2024. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Batac uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Our video-assisted exams are performed by a panel of state licensed remote doctors. An in-person optometric assistant will perform eye tests to assess your vision, and then one of our remote doctors will video call in to the exam room to complete your exam

Dr. Samantha Southard graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2025. In addition to her optometry degree, she completed a residency at Duke University and specialized in pediatrics and ocular disease.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Warby Parker Southpoint every time I've been! Most recently, they helped me with measuring my PD, finding replacement frames and ordering them, and getting my current glasses adjusted to help them better last until the new ones arrive. Maggie provided a fantastic, comprehensive experience, with great explanations throughout, and helped me with everything in less than 20 minutes!

Virginia & Ameerah both ended up helping me. Ameerah greeted me and offered pertinent info regarding deals going on, and that got my mind on buying two frames. After some time perusing the store, Virginia checked on me and I started asking opinions. Virginia was very helpful and a plethora of knowledge, not to mention witty. Ameerah checked on me again while I was being indecisive and Virginia ended up ringing me up for two pairs of frames, adding blue light. I went in to the shop today and received wonderful help from Amira. She overheard me talking to another associate who wasn’t as familiar with their inventory and tactfully slid in to offer perfect suggestions and great insight. I had been feeling a bit disappointed before she intervened but her help immediately put me at ease. She was so kind, genuine, and completely professional. Not everyone can strike that fine balance! She is an asset to this store and brand.

I bought three pairs of glasses here a few years ago and had a fine experience. Today, I walked in and was greeted by an employee asking how he could help me. I told him I was just looking around and he said "ok, you have five minutes." I understand wanting to get out at closing time, but that's a pretty weird way to greet a paying customer. You lost my business.
