Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
The well-known portion of an eye exam where you read from a chart of progressively shrinking letters until they're too small to see

Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Dr. Shinners and the staff at warby Parker are excellent. So glad that Dr. Shinners is now with WP. He goes above and beyond to explain everything and ensures that you have the absolute right fit and prescription. Have been to a lot of optometrist over the years and Shinners is the best in Mt. Pleasant. So glad he decided to land at WP. WP is lucky to have him. The staff was great as well.

Every time I have gone in person the employees have been kind and helpful, even when it is extremely busy, and - as with all Warby Parker locations I’ve been to - the store has a great selection of frames.
However, if you’re going for an adjustment (if your glasses have become loose and are falling off your face, for example), plan ahead. There is not an optician in the store every day it is open who can adjust glasses, and regular store employees can’t (or aren’t allowed to) do so.
This would not be a big issue if you could call to find out if an optician is there, but unfortunately you cannot reach anyone in a local store by phone. Calling the local number connects to an off-site call center serving all US/Canadian locations. All the call center has readily available is hours of operation and the incorrect information that there is “usually always” someone there who can do adjustments. Agents are also unable to speak to employees at local stores, with the exception of a messaging system that takes up to 24 hours for a response.
Just something to be aware of! It might take a day or two to find out if an optician will actually be there to help you.

I had a damaged left temple on a Warby frame and bought a pair of same Warby frame on eBay. Asked Warby to exchange the left temple with the one I purchased. They said they don’t harvest parts. Went home. Did the exchange of temples in 2 minutes. Obviously Warby is in business to sell frames not provide customer service.

This was an impromptu visit. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with a friend who just needed to pay for a recent order. It’s the end of the year and I needed to get my prescription renewed but couldn’t get in with my original eye doctor before the new year. I came in 30 minutes before closing and even though Dr. Shinners was about to leave, he graciously still accepted me last minute. I was in and out within 30 minutes. The doctor and all the staff members were so kind and considerate and I’m thankful they fit me in for an exam. Now I’m leaving 2025 with an updated prescription and new glasses on the way within 2 weeks. This was a 10/10 experience. Thank you so much!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I came in because there was mold between the metal & plastic portion of my eye glasses. The "eye doctor" immediately told me it was not mold and due to the "nickel" on the rims of my glasses having a reaction with my skin oils. First of all, I looked up the product information and my glasses are made with stainless steel, not nickel. Second of all, I work in construction and neither nickel or stainless steel has strong discoloration oxidation reactions to "skin oils". I checked this factually with AI as well, because even though I have extensive knowledge of metal materials, I wanted to ensure accuracy. The "eye doctor" immediately got an attitude when I informed him these glasses were not made with nickel and told me he "had been doing this for 36 years" so he knew what he was talking about. Even when I showed him the product data showing they are made with stainless steel. The "eye doctor" took my glasses back to their "sonic cleaner" and dropped the unclean glasses in front of me and walked off. He did not even clean the mold/dirt on the nose pieces. And apparently no one else in the facility is "qualified to clean the nose pieces". So I left with my glasses uncleaned and mold visible on the nose pieces. These people were 0 help and had 0 product knowledge.

The overall experience I had here compared to EyeMart Express was striking. It's a beautiful store, for one, far more upscale, despite its better price points. The selection is stylish but classic, a kind of ocular J.Crew. And the young woman helping us was professional, nice, and polished, not pushy or loud at all, just helpful, as was her colleague. Here's my candid opinion: don't waste your time driving all the way to North Charleston to be pressured to buy downmarket brands at inflated prices. Warby Parker genuinely impressed me.
