Introduction
Dr. Dominic D'Orazio graduated from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico (IAUPR) in 2017. In addition to his optometry degree, he completed a residency at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas with the University of Houston and specialized in ocular disease. Dr. D'Orazio is proud to be a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. In his downtime, he enjoys learning languages—in addition to English he speaks Italian and Spanish, and he is slowly learning Farsi and Armenian with his wife.

Dr. Jackie Nguyen is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 2022. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Nguyen uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Employees were great. The store was packed as everyone rushed to purchase items for FSA eligibility. I was greeted by Zoey as she was working with another costumer. As soon as she had an appropriate pause, she came over noted I needed narrow frames and pulled several for me to look at while she finished her other interaction / transaction. She noted my style talked to me briefly and made some suggestions. She was helpful but not pushy and gave me space while helping cut down on how long I actually needed to look. I didn't have my prescription so she created a profile and saved my favorites. When I came back the next day to purchase, she remembered my name and quickly pulled up my profile, went over options and engaged in conversation. After paying she asked if there was anything else and when I said just the receipt, she replied, "already emailed to you, happy new year". Super pleased!

This place is the best!! We went in for an eye exam because of some vision problems and Dr. D’Orazio was amazing. He makes you feel so welcomed and takes the time to answer all your questions. How to Lose a Customer in 3 Easy Steps – Warby Parker Edition
Step 1: Do it right.
Two years ago, everything went as advertised. I paid, the frames arrived at my door, and the experience was smooth and painless. Exactly what you’d want.
Step 2: Break trust.
Last year I tried their eye exam. Having worked in the eyecare industry myself, I found the exam to be interesting… but I’ll save that story for another day. The real problem: Warby Parker charged me for an exam that was clearly covered by my insurance. This was not an insurance problem—it was a Warby Parker problem. Lesson learned.
Step 3: Lose the customer.
This year, I got my exam elsewhere and only asked Warby Parker to fill a simple order for two prescription glasses. They completely botched it. Confusing, contradictory emails. Multiple phone calls that turned more patronizing than helpful. The process that’s supposed to be simple—one quick visit, frames shipped home—was anything but.
At this point, the situation feels beyond recovery. And that’s the irony: I’d normally be willing to help a business get things sorted, but isn’t the whole point of Warby Parker to make things easier?
If Warby Parker values my business, they can send me an email and ship both pairs to my door, as originally promised (a third pair would be a "welcome back, we screwed up" gift). Otherwise, I’ll take my business back to a local optometrist, who knows how to get it right the first time.
