Dr. Phil Mason is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in 1987. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Mason uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Staff was really kind and helpful but I learned six months later, after vision changes due to this mistake, that they did not put the reading prescription in my glasses. Without being able to focus my eyes, my vision got worse and I had to get new glasses after only six months. I did not purchase my new glasses from Warby Parker and will not be shopping here again.

Today I went to the store near Clarendon and had very disappointing customer service from Erica Philips. She presented herself as the store manager and was extremely dismissive at the fact that the frame I purchased from Warby Parker broke while I was cleaning the lenses, very fragile. The only solution presented was that I purchase the same low quality frame. There was no apology presented or any act of disappointment that her company product was so low quality. I took from it that this happens a lot and she was not surprised. Both Erica and the other employee that was literally wearing two evil horns were dismissive and had no concern about proper customer service or trying to
Keep the business by being a good face for the company they represent.
For me and my family this was my last transaction with warby parker.

I typically dread my annual trip for new glasses that ends with me becoming frustrated and picking the same frames I’ve had for ages. Today was my first visit to any Warby Parker location and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! I have unique vision needs and was given such helpful advice. The patience that was extended to me while I tried on a multitude of glasses was much appreciated. Not only did I order a lovely, very reasonably priced pair of glasses, but I am looking forward to returning to pick out a second pair! Great experience at this location starting with the warm welcome when I walked in the door. Friendly staff and eye doctor; I got both an eye exam and ordered a few pairs of glasses, and was in and out in about an hour. Easy to get to the store by metro or driving...overall a very good experience for me.

Ordered item in store and paid.
Called back weeks later asking about shipment date only to find out order didn’t go through b/c an employee failed to complete the form correctly. Ordered item again.
I called back to check on status. Once again someone failed to place the order.
I paid and still haven’t received what I paid for after weeks.

Highly recommend The team at this location. I’ve been looking for the right frames and a solid optometrist and this location had them both. Dr Mason was extremely efficient, patient, and help me understand my available lens options. The Retail team was extremely helpful in selecting the frames, suggesting things I had never even considered, but I ultimately loved and purchased.

I showed up at 4:06pm for a 4:05pm appointment and was informed they’d given my appointment to somebody else. This was completely unprofessional. Who would accept this? If you value your time and want your appointment time honored, don’t come here.
