Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

A nice home-cooked meal. A warm hug from a longtime friend. Your favorite team winning the superbowl. Finding a lost $100 bill in your old pants pocket. The birth of my son. ALL of these things pale in comparison to the joy and pleasure it was to work with and receive the consultation of Ms. Sharon, our optician at Warby Parker in Fairfax.
My wife is as blind as a potato, as picky as a toddler, and speaks English as a second language. I don't wear glasses, but even I could clearly see that Ms. Sharon is not only a seasoned expert in her field, but a titan of industry when it comes to no-frills customer service and sound advice.
My wife was unsatisfied with her latest prescription from the eye doctor but was too intimidated to tell her that she thinks that there was a gap in expectations and received treatment, which resulted in an inaccurate prescription. Ms. Sharon calmly but precisely assured my wife that she had rights as a patient and coached her in what to say at her prescription re-check.
Not only that, Ms. Sharon organically understood the misfortune and dissatisfaction of having the ideal frames be tainted in the wearing experience due to an inaccurate prescription that she so thoughtfully offered our purchase warranty an extra 30 days so that we would have enough time- without pressure, to adjust my wife's prescription and come back to return, readjust, or reassess her purchase of her wonderful glasses.
It is this level of professionalism, kindness, and expertise that has ruined our standard for ordinary eye-care retailers. We will now forever go to Warby Parker for our optical needs, and we might get Warby Parker face tattoos next weekend.

First time visit to WP, they have a great selection of frames and their prices for both frames and lenses are less than other retailers I’ve been to before.
Also, I didn’t realize it, but they offer vision testing as well as dispensing. If your in need of new glasses or sunglasses, they’re worth a visit.

Crystal is fantastic. She got us checked in and completed our pre-exam tests very quickly. She was also incredibly supportive after our exams were completed, and she helped my husband and me pick just the right frames for our new prescriptions.
Dr. Kurose is relaxed, gentle, and thorough. My husband and I were both very overdue for eye exams, and each of us had concerns about our vision. She answered all of our questions and eased our fears, and we felt very well cared for!
