We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

I initially went to different places the last couple of years for my vision care where I start needing classes in the last couple of years I was recommended Warby Parker by a colleague of mine from checking in and booking everything online as well as filling out all the information prior to getting information for my appointment. I was greeted by Adam, who was very pleasant and professional, who helped me check in and explain everything about Warby Parker to me since I am new to it, followed by Jennifer, who helped me with the prelims and examination she was flawless with explanation and expectations on How to perform the test correctly and introduce me to Doctor Who who assisted me with the measurement of my new lenses and prescription who then additionally after the prescription was set, introduced me to Alexander, who helped me and was very patient with me while picking out glasses Style and color where I was amazed by how many options for a color and style that were available I will definitely be using Warby Parker as my regular optometrist from now on! All communication received was precise and easy to understand from Adam, Jennifer, Alexander and Dr. Wu as well, which was a much better experience I had in the past somewhere else. I also want to add that the app provided by Warby Parker is easy to use and I am since my Job takes more of my time. I’m a big fan of the option to have the glasses shipped to me rather than pick them at the store. Thank you.

I had a great experience at Warby Parker. I ordered a new pair of glasses and came in for an adjustment. The optician was extremely helpful and friendly, and made my glasses much more comfortable. The whole process of buying the frames was really easy and I love how flexible their return policy is if you're not 100% happy. There's really no downside to giving the store a try.

A great location right by Macy's -- bright, colorful, and cheerful decor, with plenty of friendly, helpful staff. YMMV but I was able to schedule an eye exam the next day then came in after browsing a wide variety of frames and previewing prices online. Got a better feel for frames wearing and seeing them on me in a mirror. A young doctor but very knowledgeable and made quick work of the process. Affordable even without insurance coverage so I bought a second pair and got 20% off.

I had a great experience while visiting Warby Parker Tysons Corner. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a young lady named Renus. She was pleasant and very helpful while assisting me as I picked out eyewear. She answered all of my questions pertaining to how insurance works and details about the warranty on the eyeglasses. I felt at ease as she informed me of all I needed to know and I was able to pick out not only one pair but two. I like the variety that Warby Parker has to offer. The store is very welcoming and clean. I’ll definitely be back. Awesome job Renus!!

Adam is truly the best. Very kind and detail oriented, he took his time to help me adjust my glasses. I had a lot of different people help me adjust my glasses because it kept sliding down my nose but he truly solved it! The wait time was my only issue, none of the other staff could assist me and after I was put on a waitlist, another customer walked straight in and they immediately helped her with her adjustments so they weren't apologetic for that happening. I won't say there was any racial bias until Adam came along and addressed the issue/apologized but that was a little unfortunate. What's the point of the waitlist then?

Today, December 6, we had one of the best experiences we've ever had at an eye appointment, thanks to Dr. Stanley, tech Jennifer, and the rest of the wonderful staff. We came in with our two children, which can sometimes make appointments a bit challenging, but Jennifer made everything feel effortless. She was calm, patient, and incredibly kind with our kids, helping them feel comfortable from the very beginning.
Dr. Stanley was just as amazing—gentle, thorough, and so reassuring. She explained everything clearly and treated our children with such genuine care that we immediately felt at ease. The visit felt smooth from start to finish.
And a special thank-you to the rest of the staff as well—everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and so supportive, which made the entire experience even better.

Pretty terrible. It was not specified which floor or location they were in, which made me late. I suggest adding that information into the email If your location is within a super mall. As a result, my appointment was canceled. I didn’t find out until I arrived. Poor business practices and needs improvement. As a reviewer for opticals, I’m assigning an F. Mostly for the Inconvenience and time wasted due to a lack of clear communication. The staff was kind. Money/Dividends were lost today for the company. I’ll take my business elsewhere.
