Dr. Kathleen Leary
Introduction
Dr. Kathleen Leary is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University (PCO) in 1995. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Leary uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $35)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

We were thrilled to learn Warby Parker had opened a store in Reston (where we live) vs. having to travel to another location. We went to the store yesterday, 12/28/25... the staff was super helpful, friendly and patient. CC & Jim took time to pull frames and sizes for us until we were able ot select the best options for my husband's needs. We've been Warby Parker customers for 5+ years and hope at some point they'll start taking VSP Insurance :). Thanks for a great experience!

We had Luai supporting us to pick out eye glasses. We took at least 60mins (more likely 90mins) to decide. He worked tirelessly with us to get something suitable, recommending what was available on the floor, checking stock in the back and bringing out more options when needed. He also explained to us all the service options. Excellent service , 100% recommended.

As soon as I had my annual prescription I hustled over to Warby Parker. I've purchased from them for years and find the frames and lenses are top notch at a very fair price. The staff at the Reston store were great- knowledgeable, friendly, and able to get me in and out with several really cute pairs. They took custom measurements and made the experience easy. Highly recommended.

It’s a British company but what sad is they are not inclusive of Asian faces or noses. I was disappointed to see that the frame I’ve had for 2 years (Carlton) had been discontinued for those needing a low nose bridge fit for medium width, which makes no sense. Why would you provide more color choices for a wide fit but not the average default (medium)? It was a clear and neutral color, it makes no sense for them to discontinue this. Now the only option left for those with low nose bridges is to get an ugly green color. It isn’t fair that seeing on their store they have 4-5 other colors for those without a low nose bridge. This discriminates against Asian customers. Additionally, opticians like Warby Parker need to be more inclusive of how they make their glasses, all of them have pantoscopic tilts which are NOT Asian face friendly so I constantly fine the glasses are digging into my eyebrows bc of this tilt. It isn’t fair not everyone has a European nose so Warby Parker really needs to do better. Been through so many pairs that broke because of this lack of comfortable fit for Asian faces. And now there’s little to no choice but to get a green color for glasses because Warby doesn’t seem to care about their low nose bridge customers or they wouldn’t take away the little options we do have (there is only one color you can get for Carlton now in low bridge fit for medium width). Also, service took a very long time (over an hour) just to get adjustments and frame replacement. Warby do better.
