Dr. Anthony Palesis is a state-licensed optometrist who graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2020. Specializing in primary care optometry, Dr. Palesis uses cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise to perform a comprehensive eye health exam—prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, evaluating eye health, and more for patients ages 4 and up.

Comprehensive exams starting at $95
We recommend an annual exam to help evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to ask an expert optometrist any eye-related questions.
A detailed image of the surface of your retina for the doctor to assess your eye health and check for conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments (available at most locations for an additional $39)
Thankfully, no—we have newer methods for measuring intraocular pressure now.
It's best to have this information handy:
A list of any eye- or vision-related symptoms you're experiencing
An overview of your and your family's medical history
A list of medications you're taking (non-prescription medications included)
Your vision insurance information (if applicable)
Any questions you'd like to ask the eye doctor
You should also bring any corrective lenses you're currently using—glasses and contacts—and a pair of sunglasses to wear afterwards in case your eyes are dilated during your exam.
A comprehensive eye exam includes tests for visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision, as well as a full ocular health assessment. A retinal exam may also be performed, sometimes requiring pupil dilation. Learn more about what to expect here.
We recommend getting an eye exam once a year to evaluate your vision, examine your eye health, and screen for other health issues. Other factors may influence how often you get an eye exam, including your age, whether you wear glasses or contacts, and if your medical history puts you at higher risk for eye diseases.
We're in-network with most major vision carriers, like UnitedHealthcare, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, and some VSP plans. For other plans, like EyeMed and Cigna, we often work as an out-of-network carrier. (Not all optometrists accept all insurance plans. We can only confirm your coverage details during your visit.)
Glasses and contacts prescriptions typically expire one to two years after the prescription was written. This time frame may vary depending on your state's regulations and the risk of your vision changing more quickly.

Drove 40 min away, 7 months pregnant in heavy rain. Was 6 minutes late. I called in andvance and told them this. They don’t have an actual number to the store so it went to a corporate line. They said not to worry about it. The man that was taking my insurance was taking too long (8 minutes) even though I had my insurance card and by the time he went back to grab doctor, they said I needed to come back at the end of the day. No thank you. Will not be giving them my business.

My daughter recommended Warby Parker because she has purchased frames online in the past. She was recently visiting Richmond and we took a trip to the Short Pump Mall location for me to try on frames. From the moment we walked in the store, Naomi provided excellent customer service. They helped me with frame options to choose from based on my previous frames and talked me through all the options to accommodate my high maintenance needs....hahaha. Dr. Palesis was extremely kind and informative. All the staff were very friendly and helpful- especially Megan (not sure if that's spelled correctly). She took a lot of time to work with me to find glasses I was happy with since my prescription precludes me from many styles. Matt was also helpful sending texts and being able to communicate regarding my appointment. I don't remember the first woman's name that did my retinal imaging- she was wonderful as well. I definitely will continue to use this location for any future eye needs.

The best staff ever. In the past year I've tried three other places to get the right prescription with no luck. The optometrist a Warby Parker came across a condition I have in the one eye that the other places overlooked. After I get the surgery I'll definitely be going to them for now on. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My daughter had an eye exam and purchased her first pair of glasses and got a second pair for my son using his previous prescription. Everyone who helped from the eye exam to purchasing the frames was incredibly helpful. Appreciated recommendations on the frames that fit them the best. I started the process in October for a pair of progressive lenses/frames from WP. I've had them before without incident. First, whoever did the order in the store at Short Pump mixed up my measurement and my teenage son's. It was Carytown WP who figured that out and then placed the order for replacement glasses, which never arrived because the frame went out of stock and put my order into purgatory. I chose new frames, and got a reorder, with expedited shipping. You guessed it. I have no glasses. I am having to give up and go somewhere else. So from October to January, nothing. No one in customer service seems to be able (or want to) help. WP is great if you have single lens- don't do them for anything complicated!

I saw, online, that Warby Parker carries polarized sunglasses so I visited the Short Pump store. Within a matter of minutes, I knew I had come to the right place. I was asked what I needed and how they (sales associate and trainee) could be of help, and directed to the appropriate sections of the store.
The associates were attentive without hovering; they were genuinely interested and listened to what I needed and why. Those attributes, as well as their obvious knowledgeable of their merchandise, resulted in my ability to efficiently make the right selection and leave the store as a happy customer!!
